Reaseheath College’s Equestrian Centre is resuming its full competition schedule for both affiliated and unaffiliated dressage in October.
The Nantwich, Cheshire college, is preparing to open two all weather arenas for competition, both indoor and outdoor, and will reinstate British Dressage tests up to and including FEI Intermediate 1 along with its popular unaffiliated classes from Introductory to Novice. Reaseheath has operated a limited dressage schedule under safe social distancing over the past few months but the move to a full schedule signifies its first major step back to normal operations since the Covid-19 epidemic.
Equine Events Co-Ordinator Phoebe Harper said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming all our clients back to enjoy competing at whatever level they feel comfortable against riders of a similar ability. We have taken every precaution to ensure the health and safety of our clients and their horses, and there’s a real buzz of excitement now we’ve had the go ahead to restart our dressage competitions fully.”
October’s competitions are:
- Saturday October 3: British Dressage
(Preliminary to FEI Intermediate 1) - Sunday October 4: Unaffiliated Dressage
(Intro, Preliminary and Novice) - Tuesday October 20: Unaffiliated Dressage
(4pm start – Intro, Preliminary and Novice).
There are plans to relaunch showing and show jumping competitions as soon as restrictions lift.
The Equestrian Centre will also shortly launch a range of short courses, some online and some based at its industry standard training yard. Subjects will include BHS Stages 1 and 2 and BHS Stage 3 (Theory), grassland management, equine first aid, equine nutrition and managing the modern equestrian business.
