THE Sheffield-based Trek Group continues with major expansion plans following a £5-million investment in the Equi-Trek arm of the business.
Equi-Trek are the largest producer of horseboxes and trailers in the UK and Europe and has experienced unprecedented demand in recent months.
The investment includes a new production line creating 50 more jobs at the Stocksbridge manufacturing facility.
A huge investment in stock and parts, and the development of an innovative new horse trailer to be launched in the new year has seen the need to upscale production and plant.
Said Trek Group Chief Executive, Tom Janion: “Demand for Equi-Trek horseboxes and trailers is at an all-time high and we have some very exciting growth plans for the next 12 months.

“Our new two-horse trailer will launch in the spring after more than two years of research and development and we are very excited about this new addition making horse transport affordable and in the reach of even more owners.
“We are well known for leading the way in safety and innovation and that continues with our engineering team using the latest technology to enhance our product range.
“Providing more new jobs for the region and increasing our capacity is a great position to be in and I would like to thank everyone who has helped to make this happen over the last six months.

Trek Group is a range of companies all linked to the automotive and transport industries.
The headquarters are at Stocksbridge on a 75-acre site and employs more than 450 staff in engineering, sales, manufacturing, automotive dealerships, fleet rental, parts and design.
