TurmerItch™ combines key ingredients including Neem, Red Bush Tea and Chamomile, to help provide relief from itching and soothe the skin by promoting a healthy skin and coat. It also contains Turmeric and Micronised Linseed to help produce a high shine to the horse’s coat.
The active ingredients in TurmerItch™ support biting insect repulsion and help maintain reduced sensitivity which was demonstrated during trials with the supplement over a 12-month period. Not only was the supplement extremely beneficial to horses suffering with sweet itch as it reduced itching, it also improved hair regrowth and coat shine.
The easy to use pellets are highly palatable and by introducing this dietary system in winter before the sweet itch season begins horses should be less reactive to midges when they return.
Said Dr Tom Shurlock of The Golden Paste Company: “By “priming” the body to be less responsive to allergens generally, subsequent seasonal rises in midge bites should be less of a problem; the skin of the horse will have a barrier of bioactives that have been shown to act as a repellent, neem for example, and be less responsive to bites.”
Sales Manager, Hattie I’Anson, added: “We are really excited to be launching TurmerItch™ following extensive trials as it made a significant difference to so many horses and ponies and improved their skin condition and welfare. With data suggesting that there are more than 40,000 equines suffering with sweet itch in the UK, we hope this new product will help provide relief for many of them.”
