The UK’s leading equine bedding manufacturer, BEDMAX Shavings www.bedmaxshavings.com, have today announced the appointment of Katherine Forrest as National Sales Manager for the East of England.
In her new position, Katherine will be part of the company’s UK wide sales team and she will be responsible for identifying new opportunities for BEDMAX shavings. She will also be required to develop the sales of STOCKMAX, to the farming, game and poultry sectors and the sale of HOTMAX fuel logs.
Katherine joins the BEDMAX team from Denne Country Stores where her role involved the sale of equestrian goods such as safety and riding equipment, feed, bedding and yard equipment. Alongside this, Katherine also acted as a brand ambassador for Royal Canin.
Katherine, who is based in Bedfordshire, is delighted to be joining such a progressive organisation, combining her passion for horses with her career:
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work for an industry market leader, and to represent such a well-respected and internationally renowned company. In some sectors of the industry, there is a lack of understanding on the impact bedding can have on horse health and welfare, and I’m excited about being able to support owners in improving their horse’s well-being in the stable.
“As well as BEDMAX, I also aim to further develop the sales of STOCKMAX and HOTMAX in my new role and am eager to get out and meet with customers, retailers and yards in the South East.”
A keen Polocrosse player, the equine industry is very much integrated into Katherine’s life. She has won National Championships and has received Best Player Awards for her performance on the pitch. Katherine has also been involved in various sectors of the equine industry including; polo, showjumping, breeding, dressage and racing. Also having experienced working at International competition yards, Katherine’s equine roots really are at the heart of the industry.
Tim Smalley, Managing Director at BEDMAX said: “With Katherine’s background in sales, and with a passion for equestrianism, she will without a doubt be a welcome addition to the sales team. Her enthusiasm and knowledge of the health and performance of horses will be a great asset to BEDMAX. She will work closely with our existing network of loyal customers, retailers and yards, as well as identifying new opportunities to drive BEDMAX forward.”
BEDMAX, which has held a Royal Warrant from the Queen since 2008, has regularly topped equine industry trade body polls as the UK’s most popular horse bedding. It has also been a recipient of the BETA UKTI Award for outstanding export achievement.
